IT ALL STARTED WHEN…
Robert and Amanda became friends their senior year of college at NYU in 2008. Infatuated by her beauty, charm and class, Robert found the courage to call Amanda, in a time when everyone was texting, to invite her on a date to dinner... "I don't think it's a good idea," she boldly told him. Heart, crushed. He spent years asking himself, "Why did she decline? Why am I so upset by this? What was so bad about that idea?" And for years he never knew.
CUT TO:
2014. Robert moved to Los Angeles and knowing Amanda was living there as well, he reached out. She invited him to her sister's birthday party and he came, but purposely ignored her all night (he didn't want his heart broken a second time). They ran into each other again at a mutual friend's birthday party, and this time, Amanda left her conversation to go say hello to Robert. They spent the rest of the night talking and laughing and catching up. Robert offered Amanda a ride home, and along the way they both expressed their love for the postal service. How exciting it is to receive something in the mail in today's day-and-age where everything is digital. They agreed to be pen pals and with that in mind, Robert made his own postcard using a photo he took as the front. He printed it out and sent it to Amanda, asking her out on an official date. Amanda went searching for the perfect postcard for her reply, but in the words of her postcard, "alas, after going to 2 gas stations and a 7-eleven, it seems no one sends postcards anymore". So she decided to make one herself! Both individuals making their own postcard, without knowing that the other had done the same. And this is how their relationship started. By way of the homemade postcard.
#APLUSRFOREVER

Photography is very special to us. We love the feeling of going through photos and remembering details of our experiences that would otherwise be lost on our phones and hard drives. We shoot on film, because it's important to have something tangible. And in the process of shooting film, there is thought that goes into the photo itself. You look through an eyepiece, think about exposure, composition, and just getting that gut feeling of when to pull the shutter. Below are some photos from a variety of trips we've had so far. So many adventures... and it's only just the beginning.
SHE SAID YES!
But we all knew she was going to anyway...
